I’m only several months behind. I just uploaded video from our wedding. Moments before the ceremony, I handed our camcorder to David and asked him to take some footage. I didn’t even explain how it worked, but he somehow managed to get some good footage. I hadn’t set the white balance on the camcorder (something that is burried in the camcorder options), so I did have to go back and adjust that in post. Isla Mujeres

The last excursion on our honeymoon was to Isla Mujeres, and I’ve just posted the video we took while there (yes, I’m a bit slow getting this posted). I previously posted the video from swimming with the dolphins. It was probably our favorite trip on the honeymoon. In addition to swimming with the dolphins, we ziplined from a cliff to a platform in the ocean, swam with manatees, and relaxed by the ocean. We reached the island by way of a small cruise ship.

Swimming with the dolphins

One of our favorite parts of our trip was swimming with the dolphins on Isla Mujeres, an island that we reached via ferry. I’ve uploaded a video of our time with the dolphins. These are snippets from a longer video that we purchased.

Honeymoon video – Tulum

I’ve uploaded the first video from our honeymoon. This is video of our visit to Tulum, a pre-Columbian Mayan city (now ruins). The ruins were quite remarkable, and the view from the cliffs overlooking the ocean was spectacular. The one bad part of the day was that it was very hot, and we were worn down by the time we left. But, it was worth it. The low-res version is below, or you can see the high-res version at Vimeo.

Elizabeth’s birthday at Box Hill

On June 21, Dad Ellis, Vanessa, Meredith, Elizabeth, and I went to Box Hill Mansion for a birthday dinner for Elizabeth, and to finalize wedding plans. We are getting married at Box Hill on September 7. I took some video while we were there. Weather permitting, the wedding will be outdoors, down to the left of the reflecting pond shown in part of the video. The high def version is here.

Hershey Gardens

On June 21, while Elizabeth, Vanessa, and Meredith did wedding stuff, Dad Ellis and I drove up to Hershey and toured the Hershey Gardens. I’ve uploaded a video of the gardens, and also a video of the butterfly house in the gardens. Golden Gate Bridge

I’ve posted the video I shot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Matt, Brooke, and I stopped at an observation point on our way out of San Francisco, and towards Squaw Valley, on May 10, 2008. It was so windy that not only is the audio worthless (I’ve dubbed over it with music), but also it was hard to hold the camera steady. There was a quite a view of the city from where I shot this. California videos

I’ve posted two videos from the California trip that Matt, Brooke, and I took. One is of Squaw Valley, and the other is of our drive around Lake Tahoe. The camcorder’s onboard mic picked up lots of wind, and not much in the way of voices. I’m almost at my weekly upload limit with the video host (vimeo.com), so the final video, the Golden Gate Bridge, will go up early next week.

The meeting of the families

This weekend, our parents got together here in York. We had a great time. Elizabeth made an awesome dinner on Saturday night. We also went by Box Hill Mansion, where we will be getting married on September 7. On Sunday, Elizabeth took on her dad in Wii tennis, Wii boxing, and Wii bowling.
