I’ve uploaded a few pages of photos that Elizabeth and I (both non-riders) took from the MS 150 bike ride today. The ride started in Pittsburgh and ends tomorrow in Erie – a long ride for sure. Meredith, Aaron, Dad Ellis, and Vanessa (a/k/a “Team Ditty”) did the hard work, and made a very good showing. Elizabeth, her grandfather, and I worked at the lunch stop in Grove City. As hot as it was outside, I was worried that Team Diddy would roll into Grove City looking a bit worn out. They arrived, though, in great shape and ready to continue on after a short rest. They spend tonight at Allegheny College, and then ride to Erie tomorrow.

Brooke left for the airport early this morning. Matt and I will be leaving in about 45 minutes. I took some video which I will post when I get home.

There’s an additional video of our Saturday get-together on the family video page.

I’ve also added new photos of Box Hill mansion taken by Dad Ellis to the previous photos that we took about a month ago. Both sets are together here.

Elizabeth stayed at home, unfortunately, as she was busy working at her new job. We had a mixed bag of weather – some fresh snow when we arrived, some sun, some rain, and some freezing rain. It was great, regardless, to finally get in a nice chunk of skiing. We stayed in the same condo we had used last year, as it was very near the lifts.

The big news, on a personal level, was that on December 23 I asked Elizabeth to marry me, and for some reason I’ll never understand but forever appreciate, she said yes. Stockings are her favorite part of Christmas, and we did our stockings on December 23, our last night at home before heading to my parents. I put the ring (well, actually the stone on a temporary setting – she will pick out her own setting) in the bottom of her stocking, and she was very surprised when she opened it. I think I had her convinced that this wouldn’t happen until late January or early February, when several of her work trips ended. So, now we get to plan a wedding, and a life together. Christmas was great, too. As with most years, we went to church on Christmas Eve, and then spent Christmas morning opening presents (including an autographed baseball by Mike Schmidt!), followed by a huge breakfast. Then, my aunts, uncles, and cousins on my Mom’s side of the family come over. We also got to go visit my Nana. All in all, a Christmas to remember.
